I recently signed up for 65Mbps fibre. After two weeks I am getting 50Mbps.
I am 150m from the cabinet and was previously getting a consistent 66Mbps with BT, and nothing has changed on my system.
Using the test socket the speed is marginally up - about 52MMbps.
TalkTalk did a line test and said I needed an Openreach engineer to attend. Before I did that they textd me to say their engineers had solved the problem. That was 3 days ago and there is no improvement.
I suspect the problem may be that the SNR threshold needs adjusting, but TalkTalk just say the guaranteed speed is 48Mbps.
It is outrageous that they advertise 65Mbps, but the 48Mbps is hidden somewhere in the Terms and Conditions.
Do I have any rights to cancel without penalty?
