Re: Wait for FTTP or change provider

There is a UK provider that can do £20 a month for those speeds however that provider is only currently operating in parts of London

Many Thanks,

Orange Group does operate across the UK and is the UK's largest mobile phone operator.
Orange Group in the UK however only support leased lines at low cost once the installation is paid for.
Orange Group currently do offer FTTP services at a highly competitive rate.

For the record Virgin Media also have a EU English site for ordering in VM areas which has lower prices than the normal english version for whatever reason that is the site is not called VM but is a name in the Liberty Global Group that owns VM.

Well yeah mate they’re called EE. But what’s that got to do with the price of eggs?

Your original comment above was about FTTP provided by Orange FR was it not - hence the € pricing?

If your on about liberty global group, I would need to check as a VM engineer told me about it and I don't keep track of all ISP names and packages however I was told about this provider / service by a virgin media tech (although he did say to leave virgin and join cityfibre as he said they were coming to my address and it would be cheaper regardless) but i'm only telling you what he told me I think he said that you had to ask virgin media for them to send a link with the € prices or something but he said it not me I just said what he told me, which i did find a little odd

That may be true but I can technically get the service I just didn't tell virgin media which address and they assumed so I did not lie they were the ones who assumed is what i meant which is a total misunderstanding on their part and regardless of that Cityfibre gigabit is £27 a month last time i checked with talktalk unless they changed the prices again to make more.

No I just ignored that particular bit of nonsense.

The other stuff about Orange UK - we all know it’s EE but what does that have to do with matters?

Tell us who (in London) is providing 1Gbps for £20 pcm.

CityFibre operate outside of London.

To be clear you said, “There is a UK provider that can do £20 a month for those speeds however that provider is only currently operating in parts of London”...so I just looked:

- Community Fibre; £36.75 (down from £49 until month end)
- G.Network; £22 for 1st 6 months then £48. So £35 pcm averaged
- Hyperoptic; £45 for 12 months then £60

No one near £20, not even close.

As I may or may not have said, when i recontracted i stated to Virgin Media what is available to me I never stated that it was at which address as they never asked.
I simply stated what is available to me at my addresses, Its available to me just not at my UK address no lying from my part I did not explicitly state it was so it's not my fault if they assumed that when handing out deals, however I do state that i can get a better deal with talktalk for quicker speeds at this address as the average speed with VM is below openreach VDSL so its not false, samknows prooves this.

I know what's available to me in the next 24 Months and virgin also do which is why they are being very liberal as they know that City Fibre and Openreach are building so they don't want to lose all their customers, I know they will lose me and half my street that's for sure we have all been campaigning for decent broadband that's inline with what i have had previously (cheap 10 gig fibre which here cost the same as VDSL).

I'm simply stating that if you tell virgin what is available to you if you have multiple addresses but don't specify the location and when they ask what ISP I happily tell them because I can't deny that its not available as it simply is. I also make a point to make sure they know that i state that my current address has FTTP planned in the Openreach and Cityfibre builds as it is.

Many Thanks,
