Help getting my home network FTTP ready!

[link to this post]

To my friends I am an advanced user, on here probably a beginner. In all likelihood I am somewhere in between!

Facts/set up first then assumptions/questions later. Appreciate all help smile

FTTP to my Asus RT-AC86U
ASUS RT to 24p Gigabit switch
Multiple cat5e cables (in walls/under floor) to devices below:-
2x Firesticks (100mbps + 5ghz ac - not sure of tech spec speed capability)
2 x TVs (both 100mbs ethernet plus 2.4 and 5gz ac wifi (not sure on their wifi speed capability either)
2 x Asus lyra minis (nodes) (both have one available gigabit port plus 5ghz ac up to 800mbps)

Lots of wireless devices

I realise that 900mbps is way in access of what is needed to stream on multiple devices but I'd still like to make sure my current system is optimised as I am not going to buy any additional equipment (unless someone proves me wrong!) So questions/assumptions are this:-

1) The Asus router is 4xgigait ethernet plus a 5ghz capability of 2100mpbs. So no need to buy a new router...

2) The TVs (and firesticks). On ethernet assume they will cap at 100mpbs. Should I switch them to 5ghz wireless.

3) the nodes. I cannot switch off 2.4ghz. Does that mean that anything wireless within he range of nodes will 'dumb down' to 2.4ghz speed.

4) Next to the node is a PS4. My assumption is with the FTTP to ASUS to router to switch to Node, wired (using it's 1GB spare port) to PS4 1gb port will mean no meaningful blockage.

I think that's it. Would love feedback on this and perhaps being given full marks smile

Need to knock off a few marks!

Data rates or speeds are in Megabits per second. Mega has a capital 'M', a lower case 'm' means milli. So, you should be using Mbps throughout, mbps and mbs have wildly different meaning

Frequencies in Hertz - abbreviated to Hz and Giga uses a capital 'G', so GHz

And bits is 'b' with 'B' being bytes so the port will be Gb or Gbit as the usual abbreviation

In answer to your questions:

1. The router will be fine, as you say - you have a 2100Mbps/2.1Gbps capability on WiFi and Gbit capable.

2. TV will be fine at 100 Mbps, my new Samsung is only 100Mbps capable

3. Some devices may, chose 2.4GHz and other 5GHz - normally for good reason, range for example

4. Correct, the PS4 will see 1Gbps capability

It depends on your particular usage.

Pretty much all TV's have 100Mb Ethernet ports. It's more than enough for almost all usage.
The only thing that tends to exceed 100Mb is if you are streaming full Blu-ray rips over something like Plex. Even then most rips don't hit that limit

There's no streaming services I'm aware of that exceed 100Mb with Sony's Bravia Core streaming service coming close at a peak around 80Mb/s as it's supposed to be lossless 4k. That's only available on Bravia XR TV's though.
