Anyone know what's happening in Bedford?

Bedford was announced on the September 2020 list of next areas.

Then in February, it said it was going to start within 3 months.
Now in May, on the openreach fibre first website it says the build is currently in progress.

I've seen no contractor vans (John Henry Group) and I've seen no Openreach people pulling any fibre etc , no ground being dug up. I asked Openreach and the reply I got was basically sorry we have no plans to do fibre in your area which puzzled the hell out of me.. I asked the contractor, and they didn't even bother to reply to me.

A long shot, since it's such a small town, but does anyone else know what's going on here ?

Where abouts in Bedford (and it’s interesting you say it’s a small town as it’s got around 160k population and was getting even busier - one reason I just moved away from the area.)

i'm in the Goldington area, but I've been all over town / cycled into Newnham and DeParys area and seen nothing.

Just wondered if anyone else had seen any work going on or if openreach are telling porky pies.
Population wise, the 160k is for the entire borough of Bedford including Kempston according to the wiki. I moved here from London last year so I guess it seems small to me ?

Had quick look at https://one.network/ I dont see much work going on in the area at moment. I do see some roadwords being done Bedford Borough Council along Ampthill Road.Looks like lot fun driving down that road ;(

Small would be 10-20k, not 110k. You could very easily miss them in a large town of that size, as there is no way you could cover the whole area comprehensively.
