MYSEM S.Elmsall exchange is installing FTTP.

[link to this post]

Hi. I live on Broadway Street South elmsall WF92NF, MYSEM Exchange, and this morning the engineer was installing FTTP on the post outside our house, there was also engineers at a new green box next to the FTTC cabinet 1/4 mile away at the same time. They're in the middle of installing to the houses the exchange serves.
Had a chat with him and made him a cuppa. He says upto 1Gbps should be available to buy in a month or so. I've took pictures of the equipment installed on the pole, but I'm now sure how to embed pictures, as I'd like info one what each part of the new equipment does. I thought I'd let u know to update your records.
Thanks!

A month? That's ambitious! It normally takes months for a fibre build to go live, it just depends if they're building a new bit onto an already live build or not. He probably installed a CBT on the top of the pole. The best way is to upload them to an external site like Imgur and then link to them.

The town hasn't had any FTTP so I think this is the full FTTP roll out. I will figure out how to use Imgur, and upload the links to the pictures of the new pole equipment. For u to look at.

Yes you're right.
I just found a press release from 9 month ago saying south elmsall is on the list.

Thanks for your advice!

The most important bit (if it's there) is out of shot, as it should be right at the top of the pole.

What you want to see is a Connectorised Block Terminal: a black box with usually 8 or 12 capped "teats" on it, that the customer connections plug into.

I pinched this image from the ‘net. This shows said CBT at the top of the pole (this one is an eight port, but they come in various sizes 4 to 12 ports). This will be your point of connection via an aerial lead-in fibre cable.
