City Fibre / Vodafone Exclusivity arrangement

[link to this post]

I'm in Aberdeen which CityFibre have been progressing with their network roll out the last few years. They have recently completed the works on my street which I'm hoping to go live soon. Up to the start of this year, the only provider was Vodafone due to an exclusive deal I believe.
However TalkTalk have come onto the network as a provider since Feb 2021. I checked the postcode of one of my old addresses which CF dug up over a year ago and it has Talktalk availability. However, I checked with a few postcodes of more recent street builds (i.e. in the past 6months) and TalkTalk is not available. They are live as Vodafone is available on them.

So I was wondering if anyone knows if Vodafone have exclusive offering of their service for a set period of time when the avilability is turned on for a particular street?

That would make sense as apparently Vodafone and CF amended their agreement in early 2020 (when CF bought FibreNation from TalkTalk) to be a rolling 12 month exclusivity, based on when properties became available under CF, rather than being based on when the entire city/town-wide deployment was complete:

“Under the new agreement with CityFibre, Vodafone will offer Vodafone Gigafast Broadband on a rolling, 12-month exclusive basis as homes become available for service in each of the 12 towns and cities covered in phase one of the deployment. Previously, the period of exclusivity was dependent on the total time taken to roll out the network in each city.”

From my limited knowlage Vodafone have exclusive access for just year after area becomes live to retail customers. After then it open to other providers.

To list of Cityfibre providers in you area from
https://www.cityfibre.com/residential/

As rule of thumb there can be legal issues when have over 30% of the market or when the agreement is longer then 5 years. (I am NOT legal expert)

I’ve done some research on the rollout in my area and apparently Fibrehop are going to be offering service in the next few months even though the rollout is around 6 months old.

Pheasant's response covers how I understand the status at the moment.

If you are in one of the twelve original CityFibre cities (Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Cambridge, Coventry, Edinburgh, Huddersfield, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Leeds, Peterborough, Southend-on-Sea and Stirling ) then Vodafone have exclusivity for the first 12 months after each home goes live.

So Zen in Leicester mentioned is outside of the original twelve and Fibrehop can sell in Milton Keynes where the Vodafone Exclusivity has ended.
