Billion 7800N to fttp

[link to this post]

My fttp is currently using the Fritzbox supplied by Zen. I am trying to set up my old Billion as a spare router. I have changed the input from ADSL to EWAN, rebooted the router but can't find anywhere to put in the Zen user name and password.
Any ideas please? Thanks

Is there another drop down offering choices something like "Obtain a IP address automatically", PPPoE, PPPOA ? If so select PPPoE ( a Google search brought up this forum.billion.uk.com which may help)

In more modern Billions, for connection to ADSL/VDSL you open up the router GUI and go to Configuration > WAN where you can set up the connection and enter the information the ISP requires. Don't know if that is relevant for EWAN,

Have you tried this?

Advanced > Configuration > WAN > WAN Profile > Under Main Port select EWAN from the drop-down menu and click Apply to change the primary WAN interface. For cable broadband customers you will need to reboot your cable modem after connecting to the EWAN port of the 7800N and may need to enter the MAC address of your cable modem in the MAC spoofing field if advised by your service provider > Click Save Config to save your new settings.

Thanks all, Kenneth's answer solved it. After changing to PPOE the box came up with the options for user name and password. Thank you very much.
Interestingly my faithful old Billion gives significantly better speeds on wifi so I am going to use the Fritzbox as a spare.

Great to read that you got the Billion working with the help from Kenneth and didn't have to mess around with any "spoofing" smile

I'm running a faithful 7800N on ADSL and may in the future move to FTTP so the change of the router's default WAN Profile Protocol to PPOE is very useful to know. Thanks for posting this thread.
