FTTC / choice of fibre Broadband

[link to this post]

Hello all
Having spent weeks and many hours trying to research Broadband, I have found this forum and do hope that help is a key press away!

We have a cottage in a small Suffolk village.
There has been no landline connected for some 10 years (though the copper line does appear to reach and enter the cottage).
It is alleged that there is FTTC by the village hall, about 1km away.

QUESTION
What type of broadband package will benefit from the FTTC and deliver usable broadband to our cottage?

(The usual suspects have optimistically offered all sorts of unlikely packages and I am totally confused!)

Start off by going to: https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/...

Enter your POSTCODE only then te Captcha, it will bring up the addresses, select yours.

There will then be a screen of data - do a screen shot and host it, or copy and paste the information here.

As well as MHC’s good advice above, there are several AltNets (alternative fibre networks) either planned or actively in the process of being installed in various Suffolk villages, including the largest of them CityFibre.

What village in Suffolk are you located?

Depending on the local coverage, you may also find that an internet connection from a mobile phone signal is a viable alternative.
