FTTP Available but not Available...

[link to this post]

Hello,

We've just bought a rental property in a village just outside Lincoln, where FTTP appears to of gone live in the village, with CBT's and splitters popping up. I know one of it's neighbours (4 houses down) has ordered FTTP via Openreach (line from CBT to their home).

The BT wholesale checker claims WBC FTTP is available to my property and a few others around it, but offers no install info and claims it is not available, yet their a CBT in line of sight.

Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed?

Your picture shows FTTPoD available not FTTP

Edit: I notice that the download speed is 1000 where others in the same postcode are still saying 330 so it may change to FTTP at some point soon, fingers crossed

I'm either going crazy or it changed just before i took the screenshot. I'm sure it said WBC but maybe that's confirmation bias!

It looks like the database has been touched then for my area (maybe the OLT being updated it's full capability as a Nokia or Huawei).

That screenshot says that WBC FTTP is not available. Only the bespoke, built to order FTTP on Demand is available and the pricing is…well bespoke and generally expensive: several thousand pounds at least, even with some of the FoD near network commercial trial pricing.

You may wish to raise a query with Openreach using their availability checker enquiry form here. Use the drop-down reason “I cannot get fibre but my neighbours can”

Hopefully you will get a response in the next few days / week.

FTTPoD showing as 1000/220 normally means that the splitter/node is live, but the CBT serving you isn't, it's a fairly common occurence. FTTPoD 1000/220 normally changes to WBC FTTP 1000/220 within a few days.
