Hi all.
So a nice man in a sky lift dropped his glasses into my garden yesterday and in giving them back to me told me he was getting stuff set up for new full fibre. Having been stuck with VM (and an ongoing complaint with CISAS about them) I can't wait to get rid of them!
Looks like the CBT has been installed, but what's usually the process and timescale from now? I'm assuming this is BT FTTP and not CityFibre who are also due to be rolling out in the area? OpenReach Wholesale checker says nothing currently.
Thanks!

Those are Openreach CBTs. But there is no "usual timescale", and nothing is guaranteed until it goes live. This might happen in a month, in a year, or never (sometimes projects are abandoned).
A CBT was put up on the pole near my dad's house, only to be removed a few months later. The fact that it was upside-down (teats pointing upwards) might have had something to do with this.

No way, you’d have to be a card carrying window licker to get that wrong !

Hahaha, wonderful. Well I think they're trying to roll out ahead of CityFibre, so I'm hopeful, but I guess I'll just keep checking and one day out of the blue it'll be orderable!

I’m sure if you share your general area or a post code someone in the know may have more detail

In my case it was 4 weeks(ish) between the cbt install and fttp becoming available on the bt wholesale checker. I got a pamphlet from bt on that day and the others followed shortly after.
I suppose it depends on how far from the exchange you are and how fast they are working. In my case about a mile back to the exchange and 3 teams leap-frogging each other with the installs.
West Yorkshire.

Putting BN15 8AA in https://bidb.uk/ shows lots of Openreach roadworks activity. The references like "PON xxxxxx" imply FTTP build.
Despite that, Openreach FTTP still shows as "unplanned" at that specific postcode.

According to the OR checker number 3 Station Parade can get full fibre today.. This may take a couple of days to work through to the Wholesale checker and other ISPs.

Curiously, whereas the other day bidb.uk was showing Openreach FTTP in "Planned", now it's not and is relegated to the "Not Live" section. Not entirely sure what to make of this.
In other news my CISAS complaint has been approved so I can take Virgin for a ride for a little bit.
