Full Fiber Promise - But not for me!

A mate of mine is having some issues trying to get FTTP.

It's not available as of yet but it is coming. Here is the oddity.

Any house around him that is on another pole get the Full Fiber Promise option to be upgraded when FTTP is available but any house that's on the same pole as him does not.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be?

Openreach FTTP? On what basis is your friend coming to the conclusion they won’t be served?

And which provider offers this "full fibre promise": is it BT retail, or someone else?

Once there is Openreach FTTP available to your property, you have a choice of providers - it doesn't have to be BT. It varies which offer in-contract upgrades from FTTC to FTTP. Some will even buy out part of your previous FTTC contract if necessary.

Maybe your pole is like mine and needed replacing. Once it was replaced they came back about 2 or 3 weeks later and added the CBT to it and a month after FF was available to order.

Other than a bit of tree cutting in order for the CBT to be installed and accessible, I don't see why there would be an issue with that pole.

This is on the BT Retail site.

Any addresses connected to said pole do not show the free upgrade to 100Mbps when it becomes available. Other houses connected to other poles do show this option.

I found out that there are still up coming works in the area so maybe this will change in the coming weeks.
