Hi,

CF have started building in my Town but other side of Town to me.
Am out of contract and price hike coming, just weight whether to wait or rejoin.

Is there any where I can check when likely to get to me?

Have you stuck your postcode into the CityFibre website? What does it say?

Unlike Openreach, CityFibre don't fibre a street and then light it up. They appear to wait until a large area is complete before making it available. I'm just seeing their network going live in a few streets where I saw them build a year / eighteen months ago.

Don't hold your breath!

I would go and get the best 12-18 month contract. Then look and see if Cityfibre is active your area then. As you stated they haven't even got round to doing works in your part of town yet. A good site to see how things are progressing is https://one.network/.

Cityfibre dosn't issue ETA's for provisioning of there service. I would say if your in HMO (Flats etc) then you help things along if start ask questions to landlord of the HMO see if they already agreed wayleave with Cityfibre.

In addition to one.network, I would also recommend checking out Better Internet Dashboard (https://bidb.uk/). They have similarities except BIDB will show you more details about roadworks taking place and will only show you roadworks which are to do with telecommunication companies (e.g. Cityfibre). One.network will show you roadworks taking place but generally hides any details about it (e.g. install 100m duct in CW, or something to that effect).

Check the bidb website, and the cityfibre checker.

They are very slow compared to openreach, to give you an idea of timescale, they started in my city around 2 years ago, they also came within 20m of my property around a year ago, and as you may guess, its not rolled out to my property yeet, however all this time my property was planned in their checker, hence you need to check the checker.

When you get anywhere near activation the checker will change, but that can still be several months away, as an earlier reply stated there can be quite the gap between the works been completed and activation. So if you only have the basic "we will let you know" on the checker (without the unplanned part, if it says unplanned then forget it), then just go renew your existing broadband for a year or two as they probably wont be done any earlier then that.
