FTTP & LLU?

Hi All, hopefully one of the hive mind might be able to help me with a question has had me thinking for a while.

Hypothetically if I was to have adsl and my connected (child) exchange could only offer (sky, bt & plus net) (exchange is Allesley CMALL for reference)

Then 1 day I enrolled for fttp and as I’ve gathered id now be connected via fibre to a parent exchange (unsure what mine is in this case)

Would I physically have the choices of isps based on the parent exchange rather than the limited number at my child exchange?

Yes, yes you would. As long as a CP has their links to the head end exchange, then they should be able to offer you their service over Openreach FTTP

If you’re using the Samknows site to see the ISPs available, don’t, it is no longer reliable as it hasn’t been updated in years.

With the move from ADSL to FTTC and FTTP, the old “LLU” no longer makes sense, as you are asking the importance is if the network provider (BTwholesale, Sky, TalkTalk Business, etc) are in the handover exchange.

Most of the smaller ISPs use one of these three to connect the handover exchanges back to the ISP.
