FTTP coming soon

[link to this post]

Andrew off this forum has very helpfully liased with Openreach about my new property in cardiff - it was one of only a handful of properties in the area which didn't have FTTP available.

OR have came back saying that it will be hopefully available end of sept, which is great. I will not be moving in properly until around that time, but if it were to be delayed (esp with CWU industrial action probably having a knock on effect) it would be a pain to wait much longer

Are there any providers who could install VDSL/Gfast and then will upgrade you soonish after to FTTP?

What about a mobile service? You may be able to see if there is an adequate mobile signal now.

I understand there are 1-month FTTC contracts available from Pulse8 and Cuckoo.

For other providers who do both FTTC and FTTP, you should discuss with them what in-contract upgrade options they will offer - and get it in writing before signing up.

Does the new build have a copper line in situ already ? Very common to find new build estates to be FTTP only these days.

New property - but would it necessarily be a new build, esp if OR skipped it in the first instance?

It's not a new build no.

What I was hoping to do was get eg BT FTTC 80 and then regrade to FTTP 500 after (for example, I'm not set on BT).

Is that possible these days?
