Lost packets after neighbour had Gigaclear installed.

Hi,

My pristine ping charts on Gigaclear FTTP have now got a whole series of lost packets and it occurred at exactly the same time that my next door neighbour had a new Gigaclear installation. I haven't raised a support ticket yet, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts why this would be.

There were some issues across Gloucestershire a couple of days ago that looked similar (but worse), which required something to be prodded - so it could be a wider problem and just a coincidence that it affected you as your neighbour was connected.
Alternatively, they may have damaged/dislodged a connection in one of the cabinets. If it is a dislodged fibre connection they should be able to detect where. If it is a wider problem they may take longer to track it down (speaking from experience,,,).

Thanks Sheephouse,

It does look like a Glos problem and is nearly rectified - still some small losses just visible. So yes probably a coincidence. I was surprised how it might sort of work (rather than fail completely) if something local had been dislodged - hence my post.

I did raise a ticket in the end and spotted some local disruption on status page - small (5mins) wait to speak to someone who was polite and helpful - didn't force me through a script of rebooting and unplugging etc. Text chat was even quicker. Good experience but hope I don't need it very much!
