FTTP Question

[link to this post]

I recently ordered FTTP (27/10) with Zen. I am currently an FTTC customer so the order has been placed as a regrade. I have been given an installation date of 19/10. Is that a typical lead time for FTTP installation?

I checked on the BT wholesale BB availability checker and noticed that prior to placing an order the FTTP install process was 1 stage. Since then it has changed to KCI2 Assure. Is this normal?

The notes below show as: single dwelling unit residential ug premises served by 2.5 inch plastic duct 56. Does that mean the install should be relatively simple? Or could there be issues during install?

Cheers

It should be simple, but KCI2 Assure means they may well do a visit for a physical check before the actual installation day, to rod and rope the duct.

If so, you shouldn't need to be around as it's external, but they'll likely ring on the bell to let you know they're doing it.

For a first-time FTTP installation, I think this sounds reasonable. By adding the extra step in, they're maximising the chances of successful install on first attempt.
