Hi All,
I had hey broadband fiber installed yesterday in bridge mode. They provided a GPON box that I could plug into my existing mesh There was an issue with provisioning the service so the engineer could not get this working. I was told that the service would be activated later in the afternoon. At about 3pm the lights on the GPON box all turned green, great. This is where my troubles started.
Nobody was able to provide me with my PPPoE login, I called numerous times and I was told that it had been passed onto tier 2 support. A few hours later I called again and they said that they have the login details, and provided me with a code which was made up of my post code + 7 digits. I assumed this was my username and a password was not required. The person on the phone was also unable to confirm if a separate password was required.
Guess what... this did not work. So I rang back and was told that I actually don't need a UN/PN and that I would set my mesh to connect via DHCP/Dynamic IP. Again, tried that and it also did not work.
The support team don't work weekends, so now I'm stuck with no internet.
Has anyone had any similar experience? does the UN/PW for PPPoE contain my postcode, also is a separate password required? This has been so frustrating.
