Fiber Hereos Lead time

[link to this post]

Fibre heroes have now been in our area WR99HH putting in new poles and seemed to have been pulling something through to the one closest to me.

I was just wondering as I have been waiting so long for full fibre if anybody has a rough idea what the time from pole installation to availability of a full-fibre product might be approx?

TIA

Steve

How long is that piece of string you've just pulled through that duct. If you search round the Forum you will find that the same question has been asked many times and the answer is always the same. It could be days, it could be weeks, it could be months, it could be years or it might never happen if they find over-difficult problems elsewhere in the fibre chain to connect the work they have already done to the network.

Better to live without any great expectations then treat it as a bonus if you do get the chance to raise an order.

I'll agree with the string length.

Where I live, Lightning Fibre has been building out for over two years now and still haven't connected a single customer.

This forum is littered with incidents where work has started and then stopped.

We have just gone live and signed up with Idnet via Fibreheros. Work started late 2019. During the wait OR status changed from end 2021 to late 22 to 2026. It’OR now listed as

We’re getting in touch to update you on our Ultrafast Full Fibre build. We’ve reviewed our build plans, and currently we can’t deliver Full Fibre to xxx

I suggest you sign on for notification with FH as they seem to prioritise the latter stages according to demand. Don’t get your hopes up too far. My sister lives about 10 miles away in adjacent county and their local AltNet went bust while digging up her road. Council still sorting out the mess.

It's not that Lightning have stopped, they are still building out in quite in a large number of areas of town. Unfortunately for them, Trooli have been building out in the same areas and started connecting customers.

The only thing Lightning has going for them is they are a fair bit cheaper than Trooli and offer a symmetric service.
