Full fibre order not possible

[link to this post]

Hi,
So in the village my parents live in they had BT openreach doing work on the street and just Infront of there house this was back in April or may and one of the engineers at the time said 2 weeks and you'll be able to order full fibre to this day they still can't place an order online.
Why is it taking so long after the work was done, does the work have to be completed in the whole village first?
Thanks

Honestly April to June is a mere wink of an eye when it comes to outside plant and particularly fibre networks. Folks have had partial FTTP builds in their neighbourhoods for literally years in some cases. Waiting for an FTTP build to complete with baited breath, is like watching part dry. Don't worry about it. Check from time to time (once a week is plenty) on the Openreach and BT wholesale checkers.

Ok frustrating but thanks.
I'm also in a similar situation in that the streets around me mostly seem to be able to order full fibre but as I'm in a block of flats open reach seem to be slow at best to sort us out. Last update from the company that manage the block "Kelly group" were coming out to do a survey today, but I've not seen any vans or engineers on site so not sure what's going on assuming I didn't miss them

Ah the old 'engineer said' problem.

The engineer has no idea and just says that to shut people up.

They told one of my customers 3 years ago it was 'in the next month' - and now I get regular hassle because the customer insists I am wrong and that 'the engineer said'

Not the only customer in this scenario, and I hear and see it all the time. There could be an awful lot to be done before you're enabled and frankly, sometimes the work they're doing might not even be for you anyhow.
