Openreach FTTP migration question

[link to this post]

So I have a migration from Zen to AAISP scheduled for Wednesday, does this work the same as the old ADSL migrations as in 'switchover can happen anytime up to midnight' ?

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale) => Xilo (TT Wholesale due to O2 Wholesale closure) => Zen LLU =>> ZeN FTTP (Openreach 300 Mbps down, 47 Mbps up)
Router: Fritzbox 7530

Note: I don't lay turf for anyone. astro or otherwise, all views and opinions expressed are my own based on experience.

I've migrated from IDNet to AAISP about 4 weeks ago and was given the same anytime up to midnight message. the migration went through at ~01:30.

Worth checking you get put onto one of the correct gigabit capable Witless LNS by AAISP if your connection if 500Mbps or over. My connection seemed to be set up initially on a gormless LNS, so I did have to contact AAISP to get the moved over.

I made the same move from Zen, and have been very happy.

Wish I could report I'm currently enjoying my A&A connection but thanks to BT Wholesale stuffing up the order despite me filling in the order form correctly (I was really impressed with the detailed questions asked during the A&A order process) that won't happen now until 1st September as they've had to resubmit the order.

So I don't use up all my annual leave (as the office is undergoing some work anyway so I can't go in) I've bought myself a Zyxel 5G router (NR5101) and a Three prepaid (for next two years) Unlimited Data SIM.

The solution is working better than I thought it would and is going to be left in situ as it supports automatic failover in the event the fibre goes down which I'm sure it won't.

A&A have been completely open and honest about what has actually happened, exactly as they say they will be so I cannot ask for more than that.

Am really cheesed off with BT Wholesale (who I suspect are at the heart of this) at the moment but am looking forward to going live on A&A's network on 1st September.

Although I am also covered by CityFibre I don't really want a redundant ONT on the wall of my hallway and another installation hence my choice.

I'll post again when the connection goes live.

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale) => Xilo (TT Wholesale due to O2 Wholesale closure) => Zen LLU =>> ZeN FTTP (Openreach 300 Mbps down, 47 Mbps up)

Went live today and am absolutely delighted, adjusted the line rate to 95% and it has corrected a call quality issue I had with work calls. for a long time.

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale) => Xilo (TT Wholesale due to O2 Wholesale closure) => Zen LLU =>> ZeN FTTP (Openreach 300 Mbps down, 47 Mbps up) => (waiting for) Andrews and Arnold - Openreach 100 Mbps down and 15 up)
Router: Zyxel NR5101
