There are 3 altnets building out where I live and there has been very little increase in Openreach activity.
Two Alt Nets in Farnborough/Aldershot area, and the only OR FTTP is in the new housing estate where it is likely the builder funded it.

My nearest town already has full fibre from Openreach as well as Virgin (not sure what they provide) and I believe 2 altnets have recently announced plans so the town will be saturated with providers. For me I only have Openreach and don't expect anyone else will be coming my way and I am happy with that personally.

My anecdata is that in 5 towns here ()sequentially) where an altnet built - Openreach (or their contractors) took the opportunity to put their fibre in the ground after the altnet desilted the ducts. According to OR's plan they don't have one for 3 of those yet all 3 are live. The other two are currently being built and are orderable in parts of those towns.

Mine says the same - City Fibre are already in, waiting for go live. And (I think May Group) are putting fibre cable in now as I type in the OR Ducting, with open manhole and ladder tied to the pole outside!

Maybe they think they would not get the customers. As soon as Zzoomm started building here, Openreach followed them,

The claim by Adrian is a myth that has no legs but he likes to keep telling it while calling Openreach names like "Out of reach" which is childish when he has full fibre available by two providers one being Openreach or was it "Open within easy reach" wink

So why all of a sudden did Openreach decide to to FTTP around here as soon as Zzoomm got here?
They are out of reach, a very fitting name for Openreach, you tried contacting them?

They talk to their customers. You aren't their customer, the ISP is.

Lets talk facts rather than gossip down the pub after a few beers, Openreach don't just rock up and start pulling in cables, there are months of design work and pre-work (longer for big towns/cities) before the build phase can start so what you're saying is just not true. It may appear to some that they are just chasing the tails of altnets but honestly you really surprise me that you don't take much in from this forum.
