What stage is my fibre installation at

[link to this post]

Hi,

Apologies if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find anything.

The house we live in currently doesn't have FTTP and the various website fibre checkers online say we can't get FTTP yet. However, the telegraph poles outside our house all have little yellow signs on stating "Caution overhead fibre" and the one down from the house has a Connectorised Block Terminal on it. There are only 4 houses where I live so I would assume the CBT will service all 4 houses. I just bumped in to an Openreach engineer and was asking him about it and he said it's most likely a case of it's just not live yet and that it can take 12-18 months from installation.

The availability checker websites (that I've seen) all just say it's not available but give no indication as to whether any infrastructure has been installed and if so what stage things are at.

Does anyone know of a website that might show such information so I'd have some idea as to the likelihood of getting FTTP any time soon rather than just a simple yes/no answer.

Thanks in advance,

Ash

Use the online checkers to see if your 3 neighbours can access FTTP services, if not then as you say its not live yet. I'm afraid there are no online tools I am aware of to check when it will be as it can sometimes take weeks, months or even years if they have issues further up the line.

The simple answer is no there isn't. There could be many steps required before you're live, some of which might involve civil engineering and that could be a long drawn out process.

The Openreach fibre checker might provide some broad/ vague idea as to the timescale of the rollout in your area:
