Bt hybrid connect

[link to this post]

I was wondering if I could buy a hybrid connect box from amazon as they are fairly cheap and use that with my bt router instead of getting the subscription. I was wondering if this is possible. I can't find any information about it online.

I thought these things remained the property of BT? if so you're buying them at your own risk just like anything else you buy from people who don't have the legal right to sell them.

I think you will need to subscribe to the hybrid connect service for it to work. Its a 4g mobile connection device so will have SIM or eSIM that will need to be registered to an account, and probably cross checks against the broadband line.

No, the sim card will not be paired with your account and there is no way to pair it. It still tickles me that people are selling their hybrid connects... They are leased from BT - you wind up paying the full retail price for the unit if its not returned and you end your contract and they are not cheap devices!
