I had a nice ADSL system 3 Nodes, Home, Office, Holiday Home. with LAN to LAN VPNs connecting the 3, delta fashion. Drayteks everywhere.
Then I decided to upgrade to Fibre. Home is in the sticks so FTTC was the only option. That went OK.
Holiday Home was in the sticks too, French sticks! Orange went straight to FTTP even in the sticks. The telephone went VOIP at the same time, so a Livebox 5 with a built in ONT was compulaory. Both VPNs dropped.
Office also went fibre, Zen + Openreach, VOIP replace PSTN. Openreach ONT + Fritzbox ( Fritz must be 1st in line or no VOIP. Zen won't give the connection details to allow a Draytek VOIP box and Fritz wont work downstream.
At this point.
Office (dial out) to Home: OK
Home: (dial out) to H-Home: Dropped
H-Home (Dial out) to Office: Dropped
Then I reversed H-Home(dial out) to Home - OK
So tried H-Home (dial out) to Office - Dropped.
So tried Home (dial out) to Office : Dropped
So what in the Fritzbox stops a vpn passing through and why does the Livebox only work in one direction? I had tried port forwarding 50 and 4500 on Fritzbox and Livebox.
As a workaround I set up a route from H-Home to Office via Home. It's a Draytek feature but this isn't working either. I can't think why as it sets Office and H-Home as subnets of Home so when the traffic arrives at Home it knows where to forward it. I don't see why Fritz and Live should stop it. Maybe if I could disable the firewalls it would work but how?
