Nextfibre now live in Sheringham and Cromer in Norfolk

[link to this post]

Up to 2Gb offers launched as of today (27th June), first engineer availability for instal is 1st July 2024

The only reseller ISP at the moment is Virgin Media.

Any advice from someone in a nextfibre area that use Virgin Media?:

I’m assuming it’s more reliable than the old cable network - would that be right?

Do they do promotions in newly activated areas that are worth waiting for?

Any guidance appreciated.

Thats nice both these areas now have FTTP.

Was this pure commercial build or subsidised?

It is true FTTP so wont have DOCSIS type issues.

Nextfibre is virgin/O2, trying to get as big as Openreach, myself unless I really had to use them I would prefer to give my money to another company.
As for reliability it will be pure Fibre, so will be or should be as reliable as any other fibre broadband service

Nextfibre is a network, like Openreach, so at some point they will have other providers on the network, not sure about promotions, I presume it depends on the competition.

Commercial as far as I can see. I think Cityfibre were after a subsidy for the area but they are not here.

Lightspeed have had empty chambers and brackets installed for a few years now and with new funding are talking about finishing the job off some time in the future.

I have reports of virginmedia sales reps knocking on doors locally today and have already signed people up.

BT have planned fibre for this year but are not up the poles yet (except bizzarly for 2 streets they did months ago).

I don't think any Nexfibre build is subsidized at the moment. It's all commercial.

They were too late to the game to take advantage of any of the govs Type B subsidy contracts under the Project Gigabit rollout.
