Is there a new style CSP being fitted?

[link to this post]

Walking past some terraced houses today, noticed what appeared to be a CSP, but somewhat smaller than others I have seen. Same shape, but less depth, width and height. Rather neat.

Cheers!

Do any CSPs allow the fibre cable to the ONT to go up the outside of the wall rather than into the wall?

As in, from CSP up the exterior wall, then through and in ?

Yes, they all do

They are alot nicer, downside is that you can't really have a nose post install (yes i know you can remove the two screws).

Thank you. On a single story property I would like a fibre cable to enter the roof space via the soffit. I assume that a fibre cable will likely come from a close by ground chamber as the copper phone line does.

If this is Openreach FTTP, then it is highly likely that the feed will follow the existing copper feed.

Your description of wanting the fibre to enter via the soffit seems a greyer area. Several posts on here about installers declining to work in lofts/roof spaces.

The underground copper feed enters via the soffit. I would prefer the fibre to do the same but in a different location which would be easier for the installer. The original copper feed was damaged by a neighbour putting up a fence post. He would not have known that there was a telephone cable in the ground. I am not expecting Openreach FTTP to be available soon and there are no signs of any alt nets.

That is the only problem with Zzoomm, if you call it a problem, is that the CSP is pretty large, twice the size height wise at least than Openreach ones. I could be because they don't splice and use a connector.
