Openreach - FTTP duct install hash up

[link to this post]

OR put in a new duct, great! Lots of room and no more old runs of cable round back of hedges etc.

At the house end they finished up with this shameful end pointing and cable arrangement.

Should I get them back to do a better job? Tempted to sort out myself...

Get them back.

That doesn’t even reach the lofty quality controls of Kelly’s working for Virgin Media on piece work in shitsville.

I’m with Pheasant. Get them back.

I would add however, that the way to do this is report this shoddy workmanship to the CP you ordered your FTTP from. It is up to them to contact Openreach.

Don’t attempt to do it yourself.

54-46 was my number

The underlying problem is the duct is far too shallow.

As a courtesy and to expose the full horror to the inspector, not to mention pre-empting any excuse, I would cut away the vegetation.

it was OR. MJ Quinn looked at the original duct first, but has been OR, then civils (subcon?), then OR for the final fibre cabling and connection.
