CityFibre 'planned'

[link to this post]

Hi there,
Around 2 years ago, maybe a little more, we had several teams of people pulling fibre cable through the ducts outside my house and around the housing estate.
Maybe 18 months ago, we also had lots of small green cabinets appear (access points or something? sorry, don't know the technical name).
When I check on the better internet dashboard site (bidb.uk) for my post-code, it just says 'CityFibre planned'. If I go to the CityFibre availability checker I get 'we're still building our full fibre network in your area'.
Getting quite frustrated waiting for full fibre (first world problem I know) - is there any way to get more detail on when the 'planned' might be 'switched on' (or whatever the right term is), or a normal time between all the infrastructure being in place and it actually going live...
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Assuming you've checked your postcode at https://cityfibre.com/, and have registered interest to be notified when it's available, then no, there's no further info.

Many altnets have put their builds on hold, as they ran out of cheap capital. They are trying to claw back money by increasing take-up of their existing network rather than build more - and cutting back on staff. Cityfibre are no exception:

https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2023/02/cityfi...

Obviously, Cityfibre have spent some money in your area, so at some point in the future they're likely to come back and finish the job, but it will depend on availability of money and people (e.g. project managers, network planners and construction staff).
