Returning BT hardware

[link to this post]

When I switched away from BT and got FTTP from Ogi; BT said 'send your hardware back witin 60 days or you will be charged. We will tell you how after disconnection'.

It's been a month since disconnection yet we have had no communication from BT. Also no "return your hardware" option presented when I log in to MyBT

Anyone got any hints or tips how to prod BT to take away their WEEE?

Ring them up ?

When I no longer needed the BT TV box they sent a prepaid box to send it back in (for recycling)

If you don't see the option they don't need it back. You can post it to them at your cost, or drop it off at many supermarkets, take it to a local recycling centre, leave at an EE store etc.

If in doubt ask them, and they will probably send a returns bag if you press the issue.

Do you have teh original box that the router/hub was supplied in? If so, there way well be a bag in there.

If not, call them up and they will send a prepaid strong polythene bag - drop off at a Post Office or EE store. A coule of years back, I sent two bags absolutely crammed full back.

I had a similar question re my BT Youview recorder. It's not a router but it is BT hardware.

I found this:

https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Devices/Keep-Youview-...

My TV box was provided before Dec 2019 so it isn't loaned to me and therefore according to the moderator in the above post, I can keep it when I cease service.
