Address Level FTTP Map

[link to this post]

I was slightly confused with thinkbroadband data of Address Level FTTP Map (Green mean FTTP data and Grey mean no FTTP data)

These map with FTTP (Green) seem incorrect! As there is no FTTP in this area yet!

Do they have Virgin Media (looking at the area suggests they do)? That may be why they are marked as green?

I thought it for Openreach FTTP, not Virgin Media? As I untick the option for VM

I think it is any FTTP, not just OpenReach. The question for the staff would be what is included and whether Virgin coax and/or Virgin FTTP are included.

I also don't think any of the other boxes have any impact on the address level FTTP - it is an aggregate of all FTTP.

No, I don't want VM. By the way I am on SoGEA 80/20 for now.

Theres a few OR and some alt.nets in that area adslmax has shown us. But the area is covered in VM/coax/rfog/nex-fibre

I know I am going to regret asking this, but …
what happened to the G.Fast service you claimed to be running ?

54-46 was my number

G.fast too expensive now! As my contract with it has expired. Don't need it anymore. 80/20 are fine for £18 a month.

It looks like the green dots appear for gigabit grey/black UPRNs as designated by BDUK, and them being described as FTTP may be incorrect.

The map always showed correctly, you just had the wrong box ticked for what you wanted to see (ie you had ticked the box for any FTTP - which in fact seems to include Virgin RFOG - rather than just OpenReach). Now you have ticked the box for OpenReach FTTP you are getting the results you expect.

The Address level map is any FTTP but a bug that was introduced when some more data was added to the system but not handled correctly has caused the issue

i.e. suggesting an FTTP service is available when its not.

System is pre-rendering a corrected version and will start appearing on 1st day of 2025
