Optisheath multiport on my back wall, but no supplier???

[link to this post]

There's a 12-port distribution point, with the main feed connected, but no connections to any of the ports, and Openreach checker doesn't show any service to my phone or postcode (EH12 5BB).
BT Wholesale checker (which is now https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/) does show On Demand only. Is there any way to find out who put that box there?

Just because it’s there, doesn’t mean that it’s always ready for service yet..

54-46 was my number

Openreach CBTs are usually quite distinctive. Can you post up a photo (use a hosting site and link to here)?

I'm somewhat embarassed to say that I don't know. The feeder cable coming in to the bottom looks fairly clean. There are three flats in this slice of the row I live in. Would an old Virgin connection to one of the other flats have used a device like this one?

The ID in the photo looks like an Openreach one.

That’s an Openreach CBT. Been there a little while by the look of it. So as @Zarjas says they may not have completed the build yet. Looks like there is Openreach FTTP available in some of the streets around you but not yet in Douglas Cr, Eglinton Cr or Glencairn Cr.

You may wish to put an enquiry in via the Openreach Availability Checker Enquiry Form:

I put in the enquiry as you suggested, thanks, and eventually got this reply
If any equipment has been installed externally, this may be part of a plan which has been removed from our rollout and is not currently active.

So, my only option is to look at On Demand, I admit I'm somewhat curious as to what the cost would be...

It begs the question, who owns the wall?

Cheers!
