Not really. There is still an early termination charge. The probability as well is that the ISP's monthly charges may increase. as generally the ISP's charge a lower monthly fee or reduce the set up charges in return for your guranteed custom for a minimum fixed period. This allows them to recover those charges. If the early termination fees are reduced they will have to recover those costs elswhere

Seeing as I wasn't aware of that FAQ, but was told it by sales without asking about it, if think Plusnet are going to turn round and refuse to honour it you are simply proving what some have already suggested about your mental health.

You are faced with incontrovertible proof about the Plusnet position on early termination, and you still quibble. What?

First thing is FAQ's are not the contract. It is possible the contract may invoke the FAQ's but unlikely.

Second if you actually read it it clearly states that you have to pay for any outstanding part of the 18 month contract.

Thanks for the constructive feedback, I will have to take in to consideration the provider's ADSL2+ services in the off chance that if I move away from this property with FTTC to a property that doesn't have FTTC.

My favourite ISP is BE, I'd always enjoyed my time with them. I willl have to consider an FTTC provider that's as close to BE as possible in terms of usage, pricing and customer service, but I understand pretty much none of these providers offer truly 'unlimited' internet.
£4/month is very reasonable, and I can understand paying something reasonable if I have to break contract.

(edit slightly off topic)
I have IDnet Priority Business at the office and they've never given me problems, but I think they're a bit too expensive for home use and, the monthly caps are still absurdly low. I would use them up from high use of Steam, Netflix etc. with fair ease.

Note that the £4 is for the Value product. 40GB/unlimited and 40/10 speeds.

The 250GB/unlimited 80/20 Extra is £6pm.

I'm a light user and moved from O2 LLU to IDNet Fibre Starter, which was then 40/10 speeds and 15/45 allowance. Paid the year up front (12 month term) so it cost £23.39pm.

At the end of the year I decided I'd try Plusnet at £16.49pm, 40/2 speeds and 40GB/unlimited. I found no drawbacks with PN compared to IDNet other than the slightly irksome 2Mbps upload. So I moved to the 80/20 trial not long before it ended. Then when the release product came along I decided I'd keep on/upgrade properly to 80/10 at £19.99pm, even though the £16.49 Value became 40/10 with no price increase.

So now, although I don't need either the speed nor the allowance, I have the 80/20, (sync as in my sig), with 250GB peak and unlimited off-peak at a straight £19.99pm instead of a year up front of £23.39 for 15/45GB 80/20.

Are you suggesting a legal contract is not a contract and are you suggesting that you can break an 18 month contract without penalty when it clearly states you cannot? If so you are seriously misleading people on this forum?

I said nothing with respect to the breaking of the contract.

I suggest you read my post, and not what you thought I would say.

Nothing like as badly as you try to do.

Incidentally, when did a question mark become the correct terminator for a statement?
