@OP
But don't do the router re-sync first, else we'll never know. If it is low, like 18-19Mbps, re-sync the router afterwards.

5. Reboot your modem/router by powering it off, waiting one minute, and then powering it up again. Wait for any lights on the router to stabilise before starting the test.

Thanks but .... I've tried this a few times, but the further diagnostics test doesn't seem to work for me on this site. I get the message :

'The Performance Tester is currently unable to run a speed test for your broadband connection'

Safari on a Mac, if that's relevant

Yes, that's what I was referring to. But also, I'd forgotten it is FTTP blush.

You need to ask BT for your "Broadband circuit Service ID" and use that for the "Further Diagnostics test". Only way I can run it on my FTTP line.

In reply to a post by TheHedgymon:
I finally got FTTP installed on Friday, much to my delight, having signed up for 330 down and 30 up.

However, when the guy had left I did a speed check and seem to be actually getting about 15 down but not far off the 30 for upload. I take it that this is not normal ? The lady I spoke to at BT told me that it may take a while to settle down, but that seems unlikely and two days later it hasn't yet. Any clues on what could be a cause and what I need to do next?

thanks

Snap in exact same situation installed today upload always seems consistent at 30mb. Did you get anywhere with this?
