Hope your install goes okay, Max and that you let us know your findings.

Thanks, but still exciting and look forward to new techology full fibre! I keep you all updated on it next Monday.

I have no issues in the past with a very long time with adsl, adslmax, vdsl2 and g.fast with both fttc and sogfast are the most reliable ever with no issues on DLM.Roll on FTTP with long term reliable and no matter how far distance away and No Openreach DLM for FTTP as MrSaffron says so.

FTTP be it point to point or xPon, works in a completely different way to xDSL, as long you have decent light levels you will be ok.

Does the engineer tested to ensure decent light levels OK before he/she goes? If not, how to tell?

I just look up Google:

Technical Light Levels (Technician Level)

Measurement: Measured in dBm (decibels relative to one milliwatt).
Optimal Range: Generally, a strong signal is between -12 dBm and -27 dBm at the Optical Network Terminal (ONT).
Signal Loss: Too low (e.g., below -27 dBm) can cause issues, often due to distance, damaged fibre, or too many passive splitters.

Yes, the engineer will check it. My FTTP was installed about 5 or 6 years ago and barring one or two short outages has been performing without any issue.

I believe you can request that to be done through Seb (the owner).

Glad there are people out there with guts who are honest about this situation, those that private message me and complain about him but are not willing to say it publicly are a different matter.

That's just it I don't come into the forum except to make the odd post, I get a daily email update of everything and so I keep seeing everything he posts and the silly arguments back and forth, you are all like children. being able to block someone or even threads, but it looks like I will have to unsubscribe to the Fibre board instead.

PS I have passed adulthood and am aiming for deaths door next, hopefully not for a while though.

For clarity, and something which i do not need to do.

Taras is my real name, there are around probably 50 to 100 Taras' in the uk from my understanding. I've been on here(in adslguide form) since 2001, when seb, Mr saf and john had an irc chat going i was on there.

since around 2003 i've used krustylicious as my online nick, for instance, on ispreview, on the front page comments i use taras and the forum i use krustylicious.

so there you are - you have clarity on something that you didn't need to know. I really don't want to come on here, on tbb and seening multiple adults wearing nappies .........

I have little reason to be on here, except to try and stear people on the right path to fttp. I had to wait around 7 years for fttp i truly understand the frustation others have or are going thru to get transformative internet connection.

Poeple who i've tried to help, some (count on one hand and they then got help by multiple poeple and prompty left ) have annoyed me but i still helped as best i could, because that is good customer service and also being a good person.

That's unfair. Personally I find a questioning mind interesting.
I like to think that everyone is welcome here.
