Various sites not loading

Hi,

I'm on upto 8Mb Orange broadband which has been reasonably stable for the last nine months from Manchester Longford exchange. Yesterday afternoon numerous sites would show connecting, but never load, including this one, whilst others would load with no problem, eg Yahoo, IBM. The problem cleared last night but has reoccurred this morning.

Using dialup via OneTel I can access all sites with no problems. I have also changed browsers between Opera, Firefox and IE7, and again everything works with my dial-up account, but the same sites do not load using broadband.

Any help gratefully received.

but I'm in SW London, not Manchester. I guess this is a kind of global problem for Orange then
The same speed as you - synchronisation at 8Meg, but real speed (last week, when I could actually use the connection) about 2.5Meg.
I use Livebox, but tried Speedtouch and it was the same.

Hiya, I have the same problem. Only certain sites seem to work and my POP3 email account won't connect either. My line was upgraded yesterday but when I spoke to Orange last night they said that the problem was nothing to do with the upgrade but a general issue they were having.

I was told it would be fine in a few hours. That was last night and it was still playing up when I left for work this morning.

I'm on NW London/Herts border. Let me know if anyone finds out what's going on.
