Phone line problem?

I don't know whether this is the same problem as a previous thread about connection problems but I too am having a problem with my phone line/livebox.

Yesterday (14/12/06), our home phoneline became very noisy and crackly. We noticed then that we couldn't not make outgoing calls. (this isn't the free livebox phone, but our actual main phone.)

Also noticed whist on the net yesterday, that my connection was sometimes very very slow, or had no connection at all for several minutes.

Has this anything to do with the recent Livebox upgrade? Has anyone else had the same problem?

Sounds more like a problem with the line not the Livebox. Try and unplug the Livebox and test your phone line to see if the fault clears. This would prove the which is at fault.
