dont worry bout that tracker report. Mine said I could only have 1mb when I tried it. Once you phone the broadband team will do another test on your line and give you a more accurate indication of what you can receive.

Be careful with that. Just because your exchange supports it doesn't mean Orange do.

I used to have 24mbit with UKOnline, which in real world terms ended up syncing around 16-17.

Went to Orange 'up to 8mb' and because Orange don't do ADSL2 or ADSLmax on my exchange, i'm stuck with 2mb. AT NO POINT during the process did they make me aware of this, so I learnt the hard way.

If I were you, i'd stay as far away from Orange as humanly possible.

I'm currently considering paying nearly a

Not changing now especially if they are capping the service on the sly. It seems there network must be in a real mess to put a limit of 50GB a month. If 1.5GB a day causes problems to other users their network must stink. Thanks guys 2MB i could have lived with but definately not a cap

So its Orange's fault for not telling you something that it clearly states on the main broadband page seems pretty silly that YOU didnt think to ask if they supported a relatively new product that only a handful of isp's are supporting anyway.

So you think that every punter should be an expert in ADSL technology? I didn't even know about the existance of ADSLMax before I was told by Orange that they didnt support it at my exchange (let alone adsl2).

Orange need to be mroe upfront with customers, that's all i'm saying. If they'd have stated at the start that there was a FUP of 50gb (a figure was never mentioned, even in the small print) and told me i'd only get 2mb, i'd never have touched them with a barge pole, and would have stayed with UKOnline where I was getting 17mb and no download limits!

No, im not saying that at all. What I am saying is that because you didnt read the broadband page where it states the maximum download speed is upto 8mbit, you are blaming orange for not telling you this. What way would you react if orange said you never told them what you were looking for, and didnt ask if they had adsl2 or llu available.

I dont know what way they have handled other people signung up, but the girl that I spoke to when signing up explained to me about them having a FUP, fair enough she didnt say how much it was, but she did tell me about it.
Obviously you never done your home work and tried a few message boards to find anything out about orange other than they were doing unlimited broadband for

So basically you're saying that because it says 'up to 8mb' then I should have been happy had they given me a 512k connection? Cobblers.

Orange have never explained the FUP to me (fair enough I didn't read the small print either).

It's just my personal opinion, but I think they're leading their customers down the garden path. They should be a lot more upfront and honest. Unlimited does not mean 'up to 50gb'.

I've used other ISPs and they've all been totally honest about what speed I would get.

I DID tell Orange what I was looking for, and even mentioned that I previously had ADSL2 at 17mb, so I didn't think 8mb would be a problem. Of course, no-one from Orange thought to tell me otherwise until I was bound by the phone contract.

I was one of the first people to sign up, so there was little 'homework' to be done, I guess that's a lesson for us all.

I'm not using any excuse, it's my fault for jumping in too quickly, however, Orange should try to be more upfront.

Once I can get out of the contract, they will lose me as a customer forever.
