Email - can''t logon

[link to this post]

Hi

I have a PAYG freeserve DIAL UP account which has been working fine until friday.

Now I cant get my email - BOTH by POP server, or Webmail. I get invalid username/password combination message.

However, I know username/password are OK, because I can dial in with them.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

I cannot send email this afternoon via smtp.freeserve.net.

However, I can receive email via pop.freeserve.net

OK - it is working again now (no changes at my end)

BUT what a fiasco trying to contact orange (I refuse to pay 50p/min for telephone fob off). In fairness - when I got through by email they were fairly quick to get back - within a couple of hours today. But most of the answers were useless, and evidenced lack of reading of the origonal mail.

Glad I only freeload off them for my email service - which since it has attracted 250 spam mails since friday is due to be dumped anyway.
