Is my line connected?

[link to this post]

Orange told me that my line will be connected today, however, the @ light is still kept flashing all the time. Is my line connected or BT is now doing work my line?

Has it been 10 days?

Never believe what Orange say. Is the light flashing slow or quick?

Slow means that broadband is on the line and the livebox is trying to sync, fast means that no broadband can be detected on the line.

EDIT: Forget to mention, have you checked all your connection, and try pluggin the livebox into the BT master socket (if not already done so) to check.

Slow actually means the Livebox IS already in sync, but unable to login. Perhaps the wrong username or your account its setup right.

Fast means it is unable to sync, due to an ADSL fault, filtering issue or that the line isn't yet provisioned.

Just call Orange, the lady said" I do apologize, cos our engineers are try to get your line sync at a higher rate, so, we need more time to get your line connected. You could try to give us a ring back in next Monday see what happen" (Oh my god, they are trying to stop me to call them up and find some more time to deal with other things.)

Do you believe they will do that for me?

WTF next monday?

Go here 192.168.1.1
What does the ADSL Status say?

eg. PPP server down, syncronised, link down.

Also tell us how you have the box set up.

Under the livebox (next to the power) theres two ports the RJ-11 will fit into, which one?
And where does the cable go from there?

The state on LiveBox config. page says that my line is trying to sync. and get connected occasionally. However, it disconnected after 5 seconds.

My phone line is connected to the RJ45 next to the power adapter and the other end is connected to filter. Password and User name are both ok. It's more likely that Orange is not ready to get my line connected.

if as you say it's briefly getting connected then it looks like you've been switched on, try an old dial-up modem cable (rj11-rj45) directly to the test socket (the one behind the faceplate of the master) to your livebox. if it's fast/slow @ flashing then it could be a line fault. don't suppose you know whether it's LLU or IPStream do you? if it's IPStream should only take a few days to get it fixed, if its LLU then don't hold your breath. Good Luck!!!

BTW what does the ADSL status say? i.e link down, ppp server down, invalid adsl authentication etc?

syncronisation in progress?

Keep it on that screen, remove the RJ-11 cable for about 5 seconds, and then refresh the page, it should goto Link down. Put the RJ-11 cable back in, again give it about 5 seconds and refresh the page. whats it do?
