Should I be worried??

I've just found out that Orange are planning on moving me to their faster network on the 8th May even though I am currently connecting using the 8Mb DSLMax connection (which ironically never seems to want to stay above 2Mb even though my previous ISP Freedom2Surf had a pretty rock steady 6Mb minimum and more than likely 8Mb connection)

It will be LLU, since there's nothing else they could "upgrade" you to.. Your speed problems must be related to the new equipment since that's likely the only thing that's changed BTW.

I might be concerned about the LLU, but I wouldn't let it keep you up at night

There's got to be some users that are doing fine on LLU. Otherwise they wouldn't be sticking more people on there.

Some companies have been known to move people on to LLU even though it has been problematic, and all because they calculated that it would be cheaper to put them on to LLU then keep paying BT Wholesale

True enough. I some times get caught up in the mind set that companies have ethics..

LLU is unstable on orange and you will have problems. Their equipment doesn't work on the bt lines properly, You will start with short periods of down time, dropping sync until you won't have any connection at all.

I was finally upgraded yesterday and I am on LLU

My noise margin has shot up like no one's business and I seem to be stuck on a 2Mb profile even though when I reboot the Livebox I can attain 8128Kb download connect speed, it just drops to 2Mb after a few hours.

I was able to attain a straight 6-8Mb connection when I was on BT wholesale and also Freedom2Surf.

I'll post the stats when I get home from work but I am not happy that Orange have fubared my connection with one that is worse than before. [angry]
