Email reactivation woes

[link to this post]

When orange was freeserve, I had a dial up account with them. This progressed through the stages to a broadband account, and then I decided to swith to BT broadband, leaving the Orange account as dial-up, for email access.

Of course, I now have to re-activate the account every 90 days (or something) - not a huge problem for me. However, the online service returns an error for me whenever I try to go through it - saying that they're experienceing problems and value my patience (or something). This has happened in the past, and the only way to resolve the issue was by phoning their premium rate "service".

Before I do that again, does anyone have any ideas for what else I might try?

There has been a problem with the email tonight.

Looked as though you had to re-activate - but that was not the problem.

Should be ok now.

Couple of points.

Orange recently changed the 90 days to something much higher, like 250 - 300 range (I'll check this out for you if I remember) So less to worrie about while they "experience problems" :P

Also, if there's something wrong with that.. it IS supported by their 0870 broadband team, the front line CSA monkeys likely don't know this though. So just say when you call that you DO have a broadband account but its actually a query about a second dial up account that you've been using for the email. Depending on who (where) you get though to their cool with this because the calls take less that 200 seconds if you have half a clue :P

I'm in a similar situation but my solution is to just use their dial up for a few seconds every few months.

Cheers

Brunel's link worked for my account. Wonder what's up with the site if the final page actually worked :P

Fill in your details on the page, select accept etc. click next, then close the page down.

Don't download or install anything...

I have finally re-activated my email account, it took nearly a week though.
