Upgrade to LLU...worse off

I was on an up to 8mb service with Orange for the last 5 months and I was happy with typical 6950/375 download/upload speeds and good stability.

I had the email recently from Orange promising faster broadband at no extra cost. Last week I noticed a significant drop in speeds. Before 6pm ish I get 1950/138 and it gets slower as the evening progresses during the busy periods. Not happy.

I called Orange and they confirmed I have been migrated from IP Stream to LLU and I need to wait for the 10 day period to finish before seeing the better speeds.

It is now day 7 out of the 10 and I am concerned that I may be capped at 2mb for good. My router has never reported synch speeds in excess of 2mb since migration. Nothing has changed hardwarewise and I am still living 1km away from the exchange.

My question is...should I expect an improvement soon? I mean will it ever get back to the good 6950/375 speed situation?

Or have I been stiched up in this LLU mess and it is time to leave Orange...

p.s. I am not tied in a 12 month contract at the moment - (so they have told me).

Sorry guyz...panic over for now.

Router today synching as follows:

DownStream Connection Speed 8128 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 288 kbps

Actual speed test at 1600 BST
Speed Down 6468.43 Kbps ( 6.3 Mbps )
Speed Up 239.27 Kbps ( 0.2 Mbps )

Things are getting better then so I think I need to be more patient.
