Upload speed

[link to this post]

Orange seem to have fixed my download speed (see http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results/id/118180082163004924355.html ).

Is the upload speed of 240kbps reasonable (in fact, is that as good as it gets) ?

Good morning Savamac,

288 kbps is the maximum upload speed with Orange LLU.
My download speed was increase last weekend to ~ 4 Mbps
as part of their current exchange upgrade rollout, but my max
upload speed increased from 241 kbps to 245 kbps, so keeping
within the 288 limit.

Having said this, I need to find out why my download speed
wasn't increased to > 5.5 Mbps as yours was. I have a clean
phone line and I'm 1/2 km from my exchange (Leytonstone).
That's why I chose the nickname "capillaryband"...

Thanks for the info re upload (mine did increase very slightly a few days ago).

As for download speed, Orange and BT in the past have said (on their web sites) I should be able to get 5 - 6 mb, so I'm pleased with the 6.7 mb I've been getting the last few days. My exchange is about 900 metres from my house (as the crow flies).
