Odd speeds.

Hi guys, first post in quite sometime!

My orange broadband was activated this monday gone, however they failed to deliver the equipment on the same day.. I'm assuming because it's a new development and some delivery guy has simply put the postcode into his sat nav and it's come back with as an invalid postcode and decided he couldn't be bothered at all.

Anyway, here goes the story;
I used an OLD usb speedtouch modem for the monday as I had work and stuff that I needed to get done. I was getting speeds of ~4mb (which as I understand from what I've read previously is around the max you could expect from USB modems?) that was totally fine. I disconnected the broadband before bed and left for Canterbury on Tuesday morning.. I have returned today and found my livebox is now here.. I install the livebox software, etc and find I'm getting a speed of around 512kbps. I tried using the old USB modem and the speeds remain the same for both. Just run the most recent speedtest and it's still 512kbps @ 12:30am.

Yes, I fully appreciate the fact it is still within the 10 day training period but for some reason, it's not even trying to connect at different speeds, the connection is stable as it was on Monday.

The noise on your line (21.0) seems very high, I assume that is where your problem is.

might be worth a mention but when I was originally regraded up to 8MB I did not see a speed increase until after 4 days. I was advised not to keep on rebooting the router etc. I think after the 4TH day of being connected I ran another speed test and then got 6.5mb down.. etc.

Might just pay to wait a while and keep on doing speed tests etc..
