Router Statistics for Siemens SE572

[link to this post]

I have often seen here router statistics quoted for the Livebox, e.g. Noise Margin & Attenuation. I have a Siemens SE572 router.

Can any advise on what figures to aim at? The higher or lower the better?

I am getting these details from the Siemens :-

ADSL Line
Status: Cable connected
Line mode: G.992.1 (G.DMT)
Maximum line rate: 7680 kbps (downstream) / 288 kbps (upstream)
Noise margin: 14 dB (downstream) / 31 dB (upstream)
Line attenuation: 24 dB (downstream) / 13 dB (upstream)
Output power: 19 dBm (downstream) / 7 dBm (upstream)

Are these good or not?

The reason I ask is that I am getting lower download speeds via the Siemens than I do (at more or less the same time) from the Speedtouch USB router that I used before.

I have now used TCPoptimizer to optimise Window's TCP parameters and am now getting much faster download speeds via the Siemens router.

Siemens router now gives 5.5 Meg downloads (was 3 Meg)
Speedtouch modem still gives about 3 Megs downloads as before.

There was not much change to the Siemens Router statistics, but would still welcome any comment on whether these are good or not?
