orange very slow speed and rubbish support

[link to this post]

Hello i have been with orange from when it was freeserve and have not really had may problems with them but lately my speed has gone from 6.5mbps to 300-500kbps and they did all the test and said its Bt's falt cos they have terned off something on the line and they have to tell them to fix it.

So after a week the speed went up for a hour or so and went back down to 300kbps and now they say they have done all they can and it shows there end the line is at 8mbps and in there eyes it is fixed.

Im now waiting for the MAC code so i can leave and maybe go with bt, im just angry really that they wont fix it and i have to give them 30 days notice to change, meaning rubbish speed for an other month.

Yep; I think every ex-Orange customer can sympathise with you here. And why go to BT ? - if your exchange is LLU-enabled, why not go to 02 ? (a fantastic service btw) smile

I've just started with O2 and I'm getting 12/13 MB contantly. The net never drops out and the customer service is excellent. No one compares to O2 as an ADSL provider.

Of course if you have the option, go with Virgin Media - you'll have some download caps, but if that doesn't bother you, the technology is way better and you should get the speeds you're after.

Good luck, let us know how you get on smile

Orange are the worst ISP according to Which, ZEN are the best.

Draw your own conclusions.

I was with Orange until they messed me up big time (no internet or voice calls for 10 days), been with ZEN ever since - excellent.

BTW My son's pet hamster could provide better support than Orange.

Worcester Park Exchange http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/LSWOR

It's only rock 'n' roll...

Old programmers never die, they just abend 0C4 ..

I have been very happy with orange for a number of years, until recently. What a bunch of useless idiots they have turned out to be. Without any warning they have capped me to half a meg in peak time because i broke the so called fair use policy.
Please shoot me as I used a quoted 5.8 gig in a month on an unlimited plan. WTF
I have now written to them via snail mail as the phone calls were no use.
I am not expecting any reply from the useless pratts.
They have got till the end of the week as that has been 2 weeks.
I can see it being bye bye Orange.
Also having problems with trying to upgrade my mobile phone with them, but thats another story.
Anyone that is thinking about Orange for an ISP. My advice is Stay Away
