House Move-

I am moving from one area to another and want to transfer my orange account from one phone line to the new house phone line. ORANGE are being a pain and telling me I could be without a service for up to 10 DAYS!
I can give them the new landline number now and give notice to stop service at my present address on 7/1/11 but they still say 10 days??

How can I get a service transfered just like other suppliers on a given date?

This is yet another example of the rubbish "service" that Orange provide.

Move to a decent ISP (e.g. ZEN).

Do other ISPs really do it on a given date. O2, for instance, state "There will be some downtime between disconnection from your old address and reconnection at your new address", without saying how long.

Ok tell me is that 10 days notice or it will take you ten days to swap it over, No one in Orange wants to answer this.

There will always be a period of downtime between the disconnection in old address and openreach furfiling the order for providing at the new address. Typically 6-10days.
