Come to the conclusion that this is a case of put up with what you get, is what you pay for, or vote with yer feet & wallet to get better speeds 24/7 ............. if that's possible from my local BT exchange.
The other alternative is wait for Fibre Optic to be connected up, as all our area's "cabinets" have been stuffed with the new copper for nearly a year now! Hope FO is not going to be a white elephant, when everyone has it, and we all bang on @ the same time in the evening; I'm just a natural pessimist frown

If everyone continues to pay the same low price for broadband, then yes evening congestion will continue, just not be present until those networks are near to full

But everyone doesn't! Orange are losing customers.

I have never experienced evening congestion / slow-down on Orange LLU or WBC.

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 17 Meg Untweaked 19 Meg Tweaked WBC

Perhaps Orange LLU never got close to its planned size...similar with WBC new network etc

IPStream is 11 years old, and might not be being upgraded as much as it used to be, now that the effort is on WBC.

Also congestion can be very exchange based, so because one person on ISP seems none, does not imply everyone else will.
