regrade from 8mb to 20mb

Just regraded from a rock solid 7.5mb connection on the old 8mb service to the 20mb one, problem is now I'm barely managing 2.5mb speeds, got the usual scripted replies from customer service was then told the line can only take 7.5 mb max told them out straight that was a lie got put on hold then he came back with sorry sir the line can manage 13.5 and the line will take 10 days to tune, have I been fobbed off and if so what can I do about it?

Have you tried plugged into test socket behind faceplate? Disconnected ring wire? Swapped filter?

Show router stats incl. UP ones.

How did you regrade?

Orange are refusing to put me onto 21CN and have been feeding me all kinds of lies saying my line isn't capable of more than 6.5mb(and the current sync of 5.4mb is close enough, with an IP profile of 4.5mb!), even though I was getting 11ish on their LLU and BT reckon I could get 14.5mb.

The regrades happen at the timescales of BT Wholesale who run the broadband, so while WBC may be available, they may not move you immediately.

This moving has taken at least a year so far.

yes to all of the above with no change, here's my router stats today, as you can see the upstream is 688 kpbs and the downstream is 2590 kpbs, I'm beggining to think they have capped the speed as it should be an awful lot higher

Wonder what they did? A 15 Meg increase in sync is not attributable to a 3 dB decrease in Target NM.

Yes, I find that the only way to get Orange to do anything is to write; their phone support is useless.

can I ask who did you email.

I used their Contact Us/Email Us online form followed by an exchange of proper emails. I also wrote formal letters.

you got a reply from that, wonders never cease to amaze I have sent a few using that system & never once got a reply I live in hope lol
