BrightBox firmware wish list

[link to this post]

I know that Orange are monitoring this forum so lets put our wish list for the bright box here

  • Allow MTU to be set to 1500, after all Orange now use the BT WBC, not LLU
  • Allow more than 8 Static IP Addresses to be assigned.
  • Allow static IP Addresses to be assigned without the device being connected.
  • Send logs out nightly via email.
  • MAC Address filtering to apply to wireless only.

Edit: Added MAC Address filtering to the list.

When I whinged about the DGN1000 I got a PM from Ben Barnes offering me a BrightBox.
I took up the offer as it saved me buying a new router...

MAC address filtering on wireless, if they break your WPA2 then filtering will just delay them for a second or two.

You might want to highlight that you are talking about LAN IP addresses as static. But want to clarify, are you talking about IP address's reserved via MAC in the router? Or the ability to manually set the IP address on the PC?

I've never seen a router limit the number of the latter I can do. The MAC/reservation system, some limit of 8/16 is often present.

I am refering to the former i.e. IP address reserved via MAC in the router. Just like I could in my old DG834G smile
